Reactions...

On Thursday our Mother Goose lesson was all about reactions!!!
I set the table up with 3 exploration activities...
Station #1: Which color will cause a reaction with the baking soda?  (Some of the colors were colored water, and some were vinegar!)
MGT provided the beakers and eyedroppers.

Station #2:  What will happen if we mix salt with watered down paint?
MGT provided the blue paper, eyedroppers, and salt shaker!

 Station #3:
This was an invisible ink activity that MGT suggested we try with lemon juice and a blow dryer.  Unfortunately, this experiment did not work out for us.  However, this fail helped us remember that many scientists also have ideas that don't work out as well!
MGT provided the paintbrushes.

Next we did some group experiments.  We made a red volcano with baking soda and vinegar!

We did it again, but then caught the gas in a balloon!!!

Ewww!  Vinegar is not a very pleasant smell!

Lastly, we cleaned pennies with vinegar!

Working in their math and literacy workbooks...
