I am so excited to share these pictures! On Monday, January 19th we opened a Hot Cocoa stand in the dramatic play area. We had everything we needed to really act this one out! I also gave the kids a tub of fabric snowballs so they could pretend to have a snowball fight and then go and warm up with a imaginary cup of hot cocoa.
I just about died when I came across a kids imaginary Keurig machine, and a gender neutral tea set! We had a pretend jar of hot cocoa mix, and a jar of cotton balls for the marshmallows! I set out different cups as well. We used disposable travel cups with lids, and red solo cups with sleeves that I printed with snowflakes on them. The kids also had order forms, a menu with all sorts of items sold at a concession stand, and we had all the food to go along with it. They had a cash register, aprons, phone, and money. It was just so much fun to watch them play!
Okay, so these pictures are all over the place, but it really illustrates me going between the rooms snapping pictures of what they were doing! The pictures truly show how much fun they had!
A parent helped me move the tables out and we flipped them on their side for a snow fort. The kids hid behind them while they threw snowballs at each other.
Love this!
Double fisting it...ha ha! That's some good hot cocoa!
The kids quickly realized that the table room had no tables, so they wanted to pretend to go ice skating! :) Thankfully there were no injuries.
Santa Claus showed up to deliver more goodies!
These girls were pretending it was Halloween, and they were cold outside so they went to buy hot cocoa.
These cuties brought their hot cocoa home!
Employee of the week!
Licking her cheeks! Yup! This cocoa is yummy!
This is hilarious! J was pretending to be a crabby customer...
So the workers threw snowballs at him!
Which resulted in another big snowball fight in the dramatic play area.
K is so sweetly and patiently waiting for her cup...
L's got his game face on...
Here's another funny one... J and N are pretending to get the "zombies!" J had his back to the wall and then quickly turned around to shoot them out. They both built their weapons from blocks.
What a fun day!!!!
** I purchased the hot cocoa stand printables from Pre-K Pages on the Teachers Pay Teachers website.
