R is for Rattlesnake!

On Thursday, July 7th our Mother Goose lesson was all about the letter R!

Working in our math and literacy workbooks...
The kids completed another page in their monthly journals...
"Rattlesnake eat..."

MGT provided us with this SUPER FUN science activity card!
I painted each child's hand with glue!  They were so excited to see how they could reenact a snake shedding its skin!

While we waited for the glue to dry we watched informative videos online about real rattlesnakes shedding their skin!

Next, I passed out the craft supplies.  First the kids practiced forming different letters from the alphabet with the pipe cleaners..

Then our glue was ready to peel off!!!
 Whoa!!!!

Next, the kids used the beads MGT provided to make their own rattlesnakes!  I encouraged them to make a pattern!

 Our book for the day...
 Another letter R activity...
