On Thursday our
Mother Goose lesson was all about showing our friends and family we care...
The kids started out the morning working on finishing up their math workbooks. They completed a few review pages in the back of their book...
The kids also worked on the letter k page in their monthly journal...K is for being kind!
During circle we reviewed the shape of a circle. I taped a large circle on the floor and had the kids place one of their shoes somewhere on the tape line. The kids walked along the tape line and hopped over the shoes along the way as we listened to music on our Friends and Feelings CD. We discussed that friends can show that they care for one another by respecting other friend's belongings (respect is our friendly bee word this month).
We sang, "Give a Hug!"
Next I explained what a "warm fuzzy" is. I filled a fuzzy sock with rice and warmed it in the microwave...
The kids passed the warm fuzzy sock around the circle. They shared a compliment/warm fuzzy to the person they passed the sock to. This was so adorable to watch!
Giving a gift or writing a card is an excellent way to show we care! The kids made the cutest "Get Well Soon" cards to give to someone special!
Aren't these adorable!?!?
Later on L accidentally got poked in the eye. He was hurt and feeling sad. K immediately ran to her cubby and handed her "Get Well Soon" card to him. I was so touched by their sweetness!
This was our book for the day! This book is highly recommended! It has been a daycare favorite for years! It illustrates the unconditional love between a mother and a child!
In the afternoon we completed this recipe that Mother Goose inspired us with on this recipe card...
