On Wednesday our Mother Goose lesson was all about force!
We acted out Newton's 3 Laws of Motion!
MGT provided us with this book that we reviewed...
Law #1: An object at rest tends to stay at rest, and an object in motion tends to stay in motion.
Law #2: If you push harder, objects tend to move faster or further...
Law #3: Every force creates an opposite force...
I took out new sensory shapes!
The kids tried acting out the Laws of Motion with these shape balls as well. They quickly realized that not all shapes roll!
Isaac Newton loved learning about shapes, colors, and numbers. We used force to move a beanbag as we played a shape and color game. MGT provided the shapes and shape cube.
I taped a large rectangle on the floor and the kids explored how they could use force to push or pull their friends along the tape line in a laundry basket! This was so much fun!
MGT provided the materials for this craft...
First the kids colored their paper...
Then they glued what they wanted...
Lastly, I placed their artwork in a pan and sprinkle sand all around the glue. The kids used their breath to force the sand onto the glue! Each child got their own straw.
The project was pretty messy inside, so we took advantage of our walk-out basement and the kids blew their sand outside!!!
Our book for the day...
This is amazing...Brooke's family took home a green bean plant LAST YEAR
that we had planted in preschool. Her plant was so successful that she
not only grew green beans, she used a bean from one and grew a WHOLE NEW
plant this spring!!! WOW!!!
