G's 4th birthday!!!

On Tuesday, July 6th we celebrated G's 4th birthday!!!  We also had our first water day with our new water slide!!!  Thank you again everyone for this VERY generous gift!!!

The start of our Bees & Butterflies theme: Homes...

Welcome back everyone!  After an 11 day break, we have resumed again in our new location!  I am so excited for this change and so are the kids!!!!

After a lot of exploration and sharing stories of our Easter and spring breaks we got started on our first Mother Goose Time lesson for the month of April!

 Each month Mother Goose Time supplies us with a written newsletter...

 This is the weekly breakdown for this month...

 We started our lesson at the tables.  We sang, "The Bees in the Beehive" to the tune of "The Wheels on the Bus."

 A hexagon is the shape we are learning about this month.  The kids were asked to cut 6 strips of paper and then form them into a hexagon.

 They also explored what else they could make with 6 strips of paper!

 Mother Goose provided us with new name tags to practice writing names on...

 What do you think is inside a bee's home?  

There are cells inside of all bee homes where bees store food or lay eggs.

Mother Goose provided us with these supplies to make a beehive stamping craft...

 The kids used the bubble wrap as a mitten to stamp the hexagon shaped honeycombs on their artwork...

 Then they used the leftover scraps of paper to cut, paste, and color bees for their beehive...

 The kids tucked their bees in their beehive and had fun playing with them...

 Mother Goose provided us with this new Rhyme Time Poster...

 Mother Goose also provided us with these new attribute blocks!  The kids played with them in the afternoon and I encouraged them to build a honeycomb.

 We celebrated K's 5th birthday!!!!

 I love this photo!  10 years I have been working in a basement with no big windows!  I can see even the kids appreciate the view as much as I do!
