On Tuesday this week our
Mother Goose lesson was all about the Great Pyramid...
We reviewed our ABBACC pattern on our calendar...
We practiced an ABBACC movement pattern too!
We sang, "Can You Build a Pyramid?" to the tune of "Do You Know the Muffin Man?"
Mother Goose provided us with the following supplies to make a 3D pyramid out of paper! I ended up saving the sand for a few different activities, because all of my other sand is boxed away already.
The kids loved sponge painting with the rectangular shaped sponges!
We will play with the pyramids once they dry.
Where is a good place to draw? What happens if you draw on the wall? Many pyramids in Egypt have small pictures called hieroglyphics drawn on the wall. These pictures tell ancient stories. I set up this new writing station with our hieroglyphics poster, sand on a tray, and a Popsicle stick...
Mother Goose provided the kids with this new pyramid design station!
The kids also used the connecting cubes to play this new color stacking scorpion game that Mother Goose provided as well.
Later on I saw the game and cubes being used in a different way. I love seeing the kids explore with the materials provided and use them to suit their interests!
The kids completed this page in their monthly journal...
Our book for the day...
The kids continued to play our new canteen counting board game in the afternoon...
Busy building pyramids at the light table...
This sweetie pie brought me pussy willows! It is her tradition in her family to do so every spring. They believe it bring happiness to whomever receives them! They definitely made me happy, and the kids LOVED touching and looking at them!
Lot's of block play in the afternoon...
