On Friday our Mother Goose lesson was all about gravity!
We reviewed all about Isaac Newton! The kids tried to toss a red pom-pom ball on a red apple. We talked about how gravity pulls the ball down to the floor. Then we discussed why we thought the ball went forward before falling when we tossed it. We reminded ourselves that the ball moved by our force and slowed down by the friction of the air. Lastly, the ball fell to the floor because of the pull of gravity!
We discussed why some things fall faster than others. I taught the kids that heavier objects have more gravity that lighter objects...
I set up a station where the kids could reenact all that they learned about Isaac Newton!
Lastly, we made "drippy art" outside!!! I set up watercolor paints with pom-pom painters and eyedroppers on our 3 person easel!
The kids could see how gravity pulled their paint down! They turned out beautiful!!!
Our books for the day...
On a side note...
They did it!!! That was one AWESOME balancing act!
"Hey Brenda! Look at me! I can lift one eyebrow!" Lol!
