Donuts with Dad, Water Day and L's Graduation!

On Friday of last week we celebrated Father's Day with a "Donuts with Dad" party!

The kids made a card, a MGT craft, and filled out a questionnaire about their dad!

These were conversation starters that I set out on the tables...
I purchased a new donut Bingo type of game!
MGT provided us with this new magnetic "Pin the Tie on Daddy" game!

 B's Grandpa!!!

After "Donuts with Dad" we had another water day outside!  I bought the kids a new pool!!!
I am so thankful I got this photo, but shortly after taking it....
...the shark popped!!!  We were all so sad to say goodbye to the shark slide after 5 wonderful years of memories! :(
Lastly, I Friday we also said goodbye to our sweet and dear friend L!  He will be spending the summer with his Mom before heading off to Kindergarten in the Fall!  He is MORE THAN READY for this big step!  I know he will do great!  We will miss him though!
I have 7 graduates this year!!!
L and his Mom reading his Memory book...
L gave goodbye gifts to me and all his friends!  Thank you to the H family for sharing L with us for 2 wonderful years!

Father's Day!

On Friday we celebrated Father's Day and the first day of summer!  Mother Goose always provides us with a "Bonus Day" pack of lessons and supplies for special holidays...
The kids have been counting down the days on the calendar until Father's Day and the arrival of summer!  They were so excited to switch our window scene on our seasons board!
During circle time we sang, "I Love Daddy" to the tune of "London Bridges."
"I love daddy, yes I do, yes I do, yes I do.
He loves me, oh yes he does.
I love daddy!"
*The kids made a heart with their hands as we sang this song together.
Mother Goose provided us with a "Happy Father's Day" poem on cream colored paper.  They also provided the blue background paper to place underneath the poem to frame the kids creations.  I am always so appreciative that Mother Goose provides these crafts and that they include the year it was completed!
This was the Father's Day poem:
"Walk a little slower, please,
my feet are still small.
I'm following in your footsteps,
and I don't want to fall.
Sometimes your steps are fast,
and they are hard to see.
So walk a little slower, please,
for you are leading me."
Stamping feet...

I wanted the kids to take their time drawing a picture for their Dad on the backside of their footprint poem, so I took out some new scented markers!  These have not changed a bit!  They are the exact same as when I was a kid!  It brought me so much joy to watch them color and sniff the smell of each marker!

I also had the kids make this Father's Day card that folded up like an accordion...

Lastly, I purchased a toolbox craft for each child to complete for their Dad.  My intentions were to write the words "I like building memories with you Dad," but the glove already had something sweet typed on it...
"I made this little toolbox just for you.
It's to thank you for everything that you do.
On this special day,
I just wanted to say
Happy Father's Day, Dad!
I love you!"

The kids loved presenting these three gifts to their Dad's!
Being that Sunday would also be the first official day of summer, I decided to celebrate by having our first BIKE DAY of the season!  Check out this super cool group on wheels!

I also took out chalk for the driveway!

Tracing bodies...some of the Dad's joked that my driveway looked like a crime scene!  Lol!

BUBBLES!

The kids loved playing with our double stomp rocket!

I also took out our battery powered pitching machine!  This thing rocks!

Before lunchtime we headed inside for a potty break, and to play in shaving cream on the tables in honor of our Dads!  I gave the kids Popsicle sticks for them to draw in the shaving cream, and pretend they were shaving!

This is such a fun activity for the kids!  After a while the shaving cream eventually disappears, which brings a whole other element of fun!

After our picnic lunch, I took out this Dad drawing activity with whiteboard markers...
The kids also worked on their visual discrimination skills as they played with a mustache matching game that I made...
I also set out all of my books about Father's and made a reading nook outside.  After the kids looked at a few of the books, I let them vote on three stories they wanted me to read for story-time.

Before nap we played this SUPER FUN "Don't eat Dad" M&M game!

Oh no!  L almost ate his Dad's nose! Lol!

I think it is so great we have been learning about houses all month long because this cutie is moving into a new home soon!  In honor of his parents closing on their new home on Friday, we read "The Bearenstain Bears Moving Day!"
Yummy!  Ice cream sandwiches for an afternoon treat!
Have a wonderful and memorable Father's Day weekend!
