Fruits...

On Wednesday of last week our Mother Goose lesson was all about the fruit food group...
We sang, "Fruit Is Good" to the tune of "Frere Jacques."

We discussed the seeds of a strawberry.  Because strawberries are not in peak season, we learned through the gift of technology.
Mother Goose provided us with the following supplies to make a strawberry craft....
The kids played catch with their prickly balls first.

The kids dipped their prickly balls in black paint to make the seeds on the outside of their strawberry...

The kids worked on a couple pages from their workbooks...

Mother Goose provided us with the following math supplies...
The kids rolled a die and then placed that same number of "strawberry" hearts in the berry container.  They sorted colors as they counted.  We discussed that a strawberry is first green before it turns red.

J is for juice!  We made scented paper as we learned the letter J through a full sensory experiment!

These were our books for the day...
