Cleaning and Safety...

On Tuesday our Mother Goose lesson was all about cleaning and safety...
We started out the morning working in our workbooks...

During circle time we sang, "Keep the Kitchen Clean" to the tune of "The Farmer in the Dell."
I gave the kids wipes and called out colors.  They found that color and then cleaned it with their wipe.
"Clean the color red..."
Mother Goose provided us with the materials to make a bathroom door hanging sign!

Our letters that we are learning about this month...they look like germs!
I set up a writing station at our chalkboard easel.  The kids could practiced writing letters or words, and the clean the imaginary germs away with a squirt bottle and towel!

I set out another station with our fruit and veggie counters that Mother Goose provided for us this month.  The kids could sort the food into the bowls as they wore the oven mitts to protect their hands from the imaginary hot pot.

B brought a book to share that was all about being kind!  (Kind is our friendship word for the month, and the kids are really liking this particular word.)
K brought a book to share that was titled, "Clark the Shark Takes Heart."  (The heart is the shape we are learning about this month.)
I also read this book for story time...
I painted the kids hands a second time for something special for Valentine's Day...stay tuned...

In the afternoon I set out a fruit and veggie magnetic learning station that I purchased from Lakeshore Learning...
