Raccoons...

On Tuesday of last week our Mother Goose lesson was all about raccoons!

The kids started out the morning working in their math and literacy workbooks.

The letter R page in their literacy workbook...

A color-by-letter activity...

A sorting and matching activity from their math workbook...

A counting and addition/subtraction activity in their math workbook...

During circle time we passed around the hands-on letter R and took turns tracing it with our fingers...

Then the kids followed the suggested movements as we sang the song, "The Wild Raccoon" to the tune of "The Muffin Man."

Mother Goose provided us with the following supplies to make a raccoon mask and tail...

As soon as the kids put on their raccoon masks they got a little wild, so we took the masks outside right away.  The kids had a blast playing!

Mother Goose provided us with this new board game...

The goal of the game was to fill your tree with one red, one yellow, and one green apple.  On the back of each apple was the written word of each picture shown.  This game helped reinforce the letters A, R, and O, beginning sounds, as well as social/emotional skills.  I am always SO appreciative of these games that Mother Goose provides for us!  They are always perfectly age appropriate and coincide with exactly what we are learning about at the time!  Also unlike some other games, Mother Goose board games always last the perfect amount of time!

Lastly, I set up this interactive storytelling set that Mother Goose provided everything for!!!

I laminated and attached Velcro to the back of each piece so they could stick to our felt-board...
