This week we will be celebrating Fall and Halloween all five days!!!!
On Monday the kids headed upstairs with me to make pumpkin spiced play-dough from scratch!
Mmmm! Pumpkin pie spice smells soooo good!
All done! Look at those smiles!
This play-dough smells SO amazing!
I set out Halloween cookie cutters and allowed the kids to play for as long as they liked!
Next the kids made a hand-print Halloween spider and web craft. First they painted spider webs on orange paper with q-tips. They were so adorable when they were painting! They were imagining they were painting the spiders home with different rooms (bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchen, etc.)
This was my example, but I love that I allowed for the kids to make their spider web on their own. It allowed them to show their creativity!
It is hard to tell in this photo, but the kids also wrote Halloween themed words on their artwork (ex: Happy Halloween, Boo, Spooky, Candy, Eek, Scary, etc.) I love how they all turned out!
These were our books for the day. The book on the right is an emergent reader book that I made on my own. The sight words in the book are "We see a.... on Halloween night."
This year Sweet Smiles Preschool is going to be extra healthy!! I figure kids get enough sweets from everyone else, they don't need more sweets from their teacher. For snack on Monday we ate "Monster Mouths!" It was also a perfect example to show the kids what can happen to our teeth if we eat too much candy! ;)
