On Thursday of last week our Mother Goose lesson was all about the bee's work...
We reviewed the letter B as we acted like Bees!
We sang, "Working Bees" to the tune of "The Farmer in the Dell."
What dangers might a bee encounter while flying from flower to flower? Wasps, cars and humans all create dangers for worker bees. We made a beehive using a blanket. I pretended to be a queen bee and assigned each child a special shape gathering job. For example, "Fly to the hexagon and then jump with it back to the hive." I watched to see how well the kids understood the directions and could complete the task without having to repeat myself.
The kids worked in their math and literacy workbooks...

The kids loved the sparkly bee stickers!
The kids also used the stencils to complete the hexagon page in the monthly journal. They completed the sentence, "In the honeycomb is a ______."
Mother Goose provided us with this beautiful new counting book! We discussed ways we can be helpful like bees.
In the afternoon, I introduced the kids to our new number 15 counting card...
The kids also used these Mother Goose supplies to play a number recognition name...
The kids spun the spinner and placed a piece of "pollen" on the matching numbered flower...
During nap time this special girl lost her 2nd tooth!!!! How exciting!!!

The magnatiles have been a really big hit lately!
