Our Mother Goose lesson on Monday was all about honeybees...
We used our new attribute blocks that Mother Goose Time provided for us this month to work on patterns. We started with an ABCD pattern (the same as our calendar pattern this month)...
We acted out the song, "Honeybee was Feeling" to the tune of "Mary Had a Little Lamb."
We used new story sequence cards to show how worker bees and beekeepers do their job...
The kids worked in their math and literacy workbooks...
Mother Goose provided us with the following supplies to make a flower nectar painting...
First, the kids drew a branch with leaves...
Then they traced their hands for the beehive...
Lastly, I attached the souffle cup to a muffin liner to make a pretend flower. I filled the souffle cup with watered down yellow paint to make pretend nectar. The kids used the eyedroppers as pretend bees as they transferred the nectar from the flower to their hive.
Our books for the day. L brought one of these books in to share!
On Monday we also celebrated the Twin's opener! G.P. brought us baseball shaped cupcakes!!! Thank you so much P family!
Lastly, we learned about the wax that bees make. Mother Goose provided us with these wax sticks. THE KIDS LOVED THESE!!!! I have never bought Wikki Stix before, but now I know I will have to regularly!
