On Friday of last week our Mother Goose lesson was all about safety...
I introduced the kids to our new Brazilian global friend and we found Brazil on the world map. I explained that honeybees that are native to Brazil do not sting.
We sang, "It is hot" to the tune of "Frere Jacques."
The kids worked in their math and literacy workbooks...
Mother Goose provided us with the following supplies to make a bee puppet! The kids and I discussed when a bee is safe to come out of its hive or not (dependent on the weather). The kids colored their weather cards and then flipped them over one at a time. If the weather was okay, they pretended to fly their bee out of their hive (cup).
Mother Goose provided us with this fun new recipe idea!
We had chocolate bee bananas for morning snack!
The kids worked on the black page in their monthly journal. They drew a black shadow of something a bee would be afraid of. Then they completed the sentence, "The see a scary ______."
Our books for the day...
G.C. brought this book in to share...
In the afternoon I took out these supplies that Mother Goose provided for us...
The kids spun the spinner. Then they flipped over the bee card with the matching number. If they bee had the letter "B" for Brazil on it, they did not smack the bee with the fly swatter. The kids LOVED this game!!!
I also attached magnets to the back of our puzzle that Mother Goose provided for us...
This cutie pie I so proud of his beautiful baby sister that was just born on Monday!!!
He brought in pink cupcakes to help us all celebrate in their joy! Congratulations P family!!!
