On Friday of last week we celebrated Earth Day using our Mother Goose Time celebratory packet!
In the morning I set out new props for our dramatic play area to go with our Bees and Butterflies theme!
Mother Goose provided the black and white paper and paper plates for an Earth shaped craft....
The kids painted their paper plates blue and green...
Then they turned their paper plate over on a piece of white paper. They spun the Earth and we discussed how the Earth spins around the sun. Once they lifted their painted Earth the colors blended to make it look like the real Earth from outer space.
Lastly, the kids glued their Earth to black paper and added details to their art with metallic markers and star stickers...
Happy Earth Day!
We also went outside to pick up litter and clean up the Earth! Our first discovery though was honeycombs!!!
The kids felt SO PROUD!
Writing activity...
A sensory table sorting activity...
Another recycling sorting activity...
Our book for the day...
For snack time the kids made an Earth with the following food...
