On Wednesday our Mother Goose lesson was all about waterfalls. MGT provided us with the following supplies to make a waterfall ribbon dancer. We listened to a new song on our monthly MGT CD! The kids danced to the beat of the music as they pretended they were flowing waterfalls. See my Facebook business page to watch the video of the kids!
Working in their math and literacy workbooks...
We also conducted a mini science lesson about water absorption on this day. The kids each brought in something that they thought would absorb water and something that would not.
First, I set out two trays with absorbent and nonabsorbent items with blue water and an eyedropper...
G brought in a magic towel! The kids we so amazed to see the mystery item absorb water and transform into a washcloth!
The kids tested out the items they brought form home in the sensory table!
Next, we talked more about waterfalls! We discussed what sounds a waterfall can make?
We tested out our thoughts in the sensory table with fish, floating mini boats and a pitcher with a flat edge...perfect for making waterfalls!
