Boats...

On Tuesday our Mother Goose lesson was all about boats...
I asked all the kids to bring in something that they thought would float and something they thought would sink.  I told the kids that they would be playing in the water during the next couple of weeks!
These are the items that were brought in!  I loved how much variety we had!
It was so much fun to test out each item and see if the kids could guess it correctly!  Some of the items floated, but when we pushed it down, it sank.  This added to our discussion and provided a rich amount of learning!

Working in our math and literacy workbooks...

Our books for the day...
MGT provided us with this fun game and even the new boats!  The kids drew two numbers and added them together using the number line.  Then they were asked to identify if the sum was greater or less than 10.

I set out our new counting cards, and alligator poster.  MGT provided us with golf tees that we pretended were alligator teeth!  We learned that alligators have roughly 80 teeth in their mouth at one time, but they are constantly losing and growing new teeth.  An alligator will have up to 2,000 teeth in their lifespan!  The kids pretended to be an alligator dentist as they removed "teeth" form our Styrofoam hammer and nail board!

Tuesday was a rainy day, so we made it a PJ day!  The kids were calm and cozy in their pajamas as they worked on puzzles!  I loved it!
