Giraffes...

On Wednesday our Mother Goose lesson was all about giraffes...

Mother Goose provided us with the following supplies to make a giraffe craft.  I was worried about this project a little.  I thought it would be a little too overwhelming for them to complete, being that their was no template to work with.  However, the kids utterly AMAZED me!  They traced their feet for the head of their giraffe and then made the rest free-hand!  All the kids completed these completely independently!  I was so impressed and so proud!  They all turned out so adorable!

I will be saving these for our Memory books, so they will not be sent home...

Mother Goose provided us with this fun new counting game...

Each number card had a giraffe with the same number of spots on the back.  This made it easy for the kids to work independently...

Don't worry...these plastic knives are from the Dollar store and are not sharp at all...

In the afternoon I took out our Mother Goose lesson packet on beads...

We discussed what we wear when we dress for a special occasion.  I explained that the Maasai tribe is in Africa where the people traditionally wear red fabric and beads.

The kids made their own bead bracelet...

Mother Goose also provided these paper beads to built -it words...

Lastly, I set out a bead and string station that Mother Goose provided ALL the supplies for...
