Fire Station!

We had such a fun time learning about fire safety during the last couple weeks of October

Here is our word wall, fire safety rule book, firefighter books, classroom phone book, and writing activities...

Our sight words for the month of October were I, see, & the.

This is actually fire engine sprinkler that we brought inside to play with...
I made fire out of tissue paper...

 Our fire gear...
We brought in another heavy-duty cardboard box for our pretend house...
 Everyone LOVED the fire engine!

 Knock, Knock....Whose there?

 Firefighter J to the rescue!
Firefighter J calling out to his crew...

What an adorable dalmatian fire dog!!!
Love to see the learning involved...

We got a new firefighter Bubble Guppies book...
 Hey!  They found a match!

We made "Thank you" cards for the firefighters, and colored our own firefighter hats...

We colored our own firefighter emergent reader book...
I am always so proud when I see them reading...

Even the big kids had fun playing...
That is some serious fire fighting...

She blushes when I want to take her picture...

Check out that hose all wrapped up and ready to go...
I did teach them to get out of the burning house BEFORE calling 9-1-1. :)
We even made a fire engine snack!

I made a classroom phone book that I added to our library area.  The kids can work on their VERY OWN phone number all year long now!

This was a super fun unit to do, but my ears were not prepared for all the siren noises the kids would make!  Ha ha ha!

**I purchased the fire safety printables from Growing Kinders on the Teachers Pay Teachers website.
