Halloween Week...Day 4

On Thursday we started our day with  more cookie sheet magnetic games!
Match the monsters...
 Build a scarecrow...
Is the animal beside the pumpkin or in between the pumpkins?
Match the picture to the same ending sound...
We played with transparent Halloween themed pictures on our light table!  We also played with an assortment of acrylic pieces (acorns, apples, leaves, pumpkins, and owls.  We practiced sorting...
We practiced our counting and one to one correspondence...
 We practiced making patterns...

Here L and N are playing a game with with the acrylic pieces...
We made Halloween sensory bags!  I filled gallon sized Ziploc bags with orange and green soap and an assortment of Halloween toys...
The kids loved playing with the leftover toys!

We also put our sensory bags on the light table...
The kids had fun watching me make lunch today!  The mummy hot dogs brought on a very interesting conversation (these are all the kid's comments/statements/questions)...
"We are eating mommies?!?"
"NO MUMMIES!"
"What are mummies?"
"I don't know...maybe aliens?"
"No!  They are just people wrapped in paper."
"Why are they wrapped in paper?"
"Because they have owies."
"Why?"
"I don't know.  They just do."
"Are our mommies mummies?"
"Are our mommies aliens?"
"They might be!"
This concluded with J---b telling a story about an alien mommy and what she might do to be scary!
Ha ha ha ha!

Don't you all wish you could be a part of these cute conversations everyday?!
These give new definition to mummy dogs!!!  So much fun!

"I bit the mummy's head off!"

Our story today was "The Little Old Lady Who Was Not Afraid of Anything!"  We built a matching scarecrow on the felt board!
For snack I made the kids monster hands with popcorn and candy corn!
