The Mojave Desert...

One of our Mother Goose lesson last week was about the Mojave Desert...
The kids used some brown sand to complete the brown page in their monthly journal...

Mother Goose provided us with more sentence building words, and sight word arrows for our library area.
Mother Goose also provided us with this new storybook...
...and these new storytelling pieces to go along with the book...

Being that we were limited in resources this week due to the move, we were unable to complete this fun science activity.  Maybe some of you can complete this one at home over the break...
Mother Goose provides us with the following supplies for us to pretend to pan for gold.  Unfortunately, they did not provide enough rocks for everyone.
I had one volunteer paint the rocks that we were given with a gold glitter paint...

Then we added our remaining brown sand to a pan with water.  I added the gold rocks and a few pie tins.  The kids took turns playing with this!  It was messy, but a lot of fun!
