Horses...

On Monday of this week our Mother Goose lesson was all about horses...
We started our circle time reviewing the letter H.
The kids took turns flipping over one phonic photo card and revealed the photo.  Then they ran around the circle as they said, "The H says /h/!"

We sang, "Ride the Horse" to the tune of "Row Your Boat."
Mother Goose also provided us with these new horse math counters for the month of March...
I asked the kids to try to find itty bitty objects in the room that they could use to balance on the back of horse.

The kids pretended to be a horse as they balanced the letter H on their back.  They rode the letter H to the other side of the room where the letter H flag and phonic cards were. Then they tried to wiggle the letter H off their back...

Next the kids played with the horses in the block area.  I encouraged them to make a home for the horses...

Next, the kids used these supplies to make a horse craft!

Our book for the day...
Working from our workbooks...
This cracks me up!  Looks creepy, but the kids LOVED playing with their horses, hats, and lassos that they made! :)
