Horns...

On Friday we learned about horn instruments...
We started the morning working on a Christmas tree paper plate craft...

The kids cut apart their paper plate into 3 sections, and painted it green.  Then they glued them together to create a tree.  The kids cut out a yellow star for the top and added a brown rectangle for the trunk.  Lastly, they glued gems on their tree for ornaments!  These turned out super cute!
The kids worked on the following pages in their workbooks...

We listened to different sound clips of several instruments on the this website.

We also watched a woodwinds demonstration on this website.
Next, the kids played Memory with this set of instrument cards provided by Mother Goose Time.
I also set out our musical Melissa and Doug instrument puzzle...
Lastly, the kids were given a new journal for the month of December.  They worked on the cover and back page of their journal.  They dipped their fingers in ink pads to make musical notes on the cover.  Then they also drew a picture of themselves playing their favorite instrument.

This was our book for the day...
