During the month of January we have been learning all about dinosaurs! The kids have had a blast with this unit! I am excited to see them using such big vocabulary! Here are a few highlights...
Doing the work of a paleontologist with our dinosaur skeleton craft...
Making fossils in play-dough...
Comparing a human skeleton to the skeleton of a T-Rex...
Building a dinosaur skeleton class mural...
Digging for dinosaurs in the sensory table...
I bought the kids new sand rollers!
The kids loved this new dinosaur puzzle...
We were all AMAZED with these dinosaur artifacts...
I loved watching them look at these pieces with such wonder...
We made more skeletons with pasta noodles...
L thought the noodles looked like a mustache!
We made triceratops masks. They looked a little devilish, but still cute...
We watched dinosaurs hatch and grow in water!
We had fun playing with the dinosaurs we watched grow...
We made a volcano erupt!!!!!
The kids wanted so badly to touch it, and I just couldn't deny them...
Unfortunately, the red food coloring stained their hands...
However, the kids LOVED it. They pretended they were "pink monsters!"
Learning numbers 5 and 15 with dinosaurs and eggs...
We made a super fun dinosaur diorama craft project!
We learned a lot about herbivores and carnivores. We planted seeds in peat pellets!
Are you a carnivore or a herbivore?
We had a fun lunch where the kids got to serve themselves.
We learned that we are actually omnivores!
It was fun watching the kids be so independent. They felt SO PROUD!
Lastly, the kids have had fun roaring like crazy in our dinosaur (dragon) costumes!!! :)
