Sweet Smiles Airport!

Welcome to Sweet Smiles Airport!  We will be traveling all around the world during the month of February!  We will be learning all about different places, people, traditions, and customs!  I want to teach the children to embrace their differences!

Here is our travel agency...
We have a laptop that no longer works (but is great for imagining with), a Press 'n' Learn globe, a Melissa and Doug USA sound puzzle, and a phone...
Pack your bag!  We have luggage with common items packed when going on a trip...
Choose your position!
We have job tags (travel agent, pilot, co-pilot, passenger, flight attendants, and grounds crew)...
Our airport word wall to encourage reading and writing...
Check in desk where you can check in your baggage and purchase your ticket...
The kids wrote their own tickets with the name, destination, and seat number...
Security checkpoint!
I explained that this machine is smart and beeps if anyone is carrying anything dangerous...
Baggage x-ray machine!  The kids got such a laugh that we have to take our shoes off!
Check in at the gate and get your ticket scanned before boarding the airplane...

Grounds crew costume and pilot costume...
The airplane!!!!!  Paul is simply amazing!!!  He built this for the kids!

Here is the cockpit!  This was so much fun!!! It was definitely the kids favorite part!  I went to Goodwill to get the the steering wheel and other gadgets.  I ordered the airplane stickers from Amazon, and Paul installed the light switches.  The headphones are from our listening center.
Seats labeled with numbers...
Time to play!!!!

The kids thought it was so cool that we could eat on an airplane,
so they brought a lot of food on board with them!

These kids were so proud when they completed our new sound USA puzzle!

  Our new multiethnic costumes!
We love pretending to travel all around the world and dressing the part!
How "loving!"  (Loving is the word we are learning about this month).
N is helping her friend get a costume on!

**I purchased the airport printables from Play to Learn Preschool on the Teachers Pay Teachers website.
