Dr. Seuss's Birthday Celebration...

On Friday of last week we had a blast celebrating Dr. Seuss's birthday!

Making "Thing 1" and "Thing 2" wigs...

Making Oobleck, and learning about the difference between a liquid and a solid.

Hoping on bubble wrap (hop on pop)!  So fun!

Learning to rhyme like Dr. Seuss with our rhyming houses...

I treated the kids to a new pair of Dr. Seuss socks!

We always have a pizza picnic party when we celebrate a birthday!

Cowboy Hats...

On Wednesday last week our Mother Goose lesson was all about cowboy/girl hats...
Mother Goose provided us with the supplies to make this cowboy/girl hat...
First the kids found things that were smaller than, larger than, or the same size as the hat...

We sang, "Skip Around the Hat" to the tune of "Skip to my Lou."

How big is your head?  How can we measure it?
We used a measuring tape and our new Mother Goose measuring cubes to measure all of our heads...

The kids painted their cowboy/girl hats by dipping their twine in paint!

Mother Goose provided us with these new magnifying glasses to go with our theme poster..

The kids used positional words to describe where the objects were located on the poster.
Mother Goose provided us with these cowboy/girl hat color matching game...
The first person to draw a hat that matched their person's boots won!

We also worked in our workbooks...
Our book for the day...
